The Discovery Framework™ Excerpt

When we choose fear as our fuel, any of us—individuals and organizations alike—can become stuck in the “hamster wheel” approach to life. Trapped by the mistaken belief that busyness is the same as purpose, we can’t stand the way we’re living but feel powerless to change.

Stressed Out and Stuck

Itching to get off that wheel? It turns out the secret is actually quite simple.

When you fall in love with yourself, everything else falls into place, personally and professionally. Choosing love as your core energy automatically enhances every aspect of your life: your perceptions, opportunities, relationships and priorities. You get unstuck, reclaim your personal power and recapture your zest for living, moving yourself forward into a life you love. When love transforms your relationship with yourself, it transforms your personal life, your work and the world.

When I began living this commitment to loving myself, I discovered that my sense of equanimity and fulfillment were greatest when I fueled my core energy in constructive and loving ways—physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Approaching myself and my life—every being, encounter and experience—with love, respect, curiosity and compassion always reveals and advances the highest good for all, in all, through all. Moment by moment, I know where, how and when to invest my energy to move myself forward on my Journey to Wholeness.

Maintaining a belief in abundance and an attitude of gratitude anchors each moment in a sense of generous, effortless, gracious flow—a life of freedom centered in being, not doing—filled with faith, hope, prosperity, peace and joy.

From these empowering insights, the elements of my Discovery Framework emerged.

The Discovery Framework™

Choosing Your Fuel—The Role of Core Energy. Establishing and maintaining constructive core energy fueled by love, respect, curiosity, compassion and gratitude forms the firm foundation for a life of flow.

Creating Balance—Feeding Your Nine Senses. Like the framing in a home, our outer and inner senses build on our energetic foundation to provide the day-to-day infrastructure for a life of flow securely grounded in constructive core energy. Sensory balance involves feeding all of our senses in healthy, balanced ways so that no one sense takes over trying to fill voids it can never hope to fill. This begins with mindfully feeding our five outer senses, through which we celebrate our world, and it extends to intentionally feeding our four inner senses of creativity, vitality, spirituality and belonging, through which we imbue our experience with meaning.

Achieving Equanimity—Your Personal Board of Directors. You may say, “So far, the principles sound great in theory, but you’ve neglected to take into account the oppressive power of the judgmental voice in my head. Every time I start to break free from thoughts of self-imposed limitation and lack, that voice puts me back in my place by reminding me that I’m not good enough and never will be.” Good news! Help is on the way. Once you build a more constructive relationship with your personal board of directors—sage, guardian and muse—you will find that disparaging voice becomes less prevalent and less powerful. When your board members collaborate respectfully, they leverage their vast collection of competencies, seamlessly drawing on your constructive core energy and feeding all of your senses in a balanced way. When fueled by love, your board members are capable of synthesizing their diverse strengths and talents into a whole that is much greater than the sum of its parts.

Making It Happen—Tools for Fostering Flow. If you are like many, at this point you are wondering, “The framework is elegant and intriguing but a bit complex. In practice, how do I work with my board of directors to apply the principles consistently enough to turn this way of living into a healthy new habit?” That’s precisely where my tools for fostering flow come into play. This set of simple personalized practices helps you realize the essential shift from believing these principles in your head to living them from your heart. Making these tools a way of life helps you stay centered in flow. When you drift off center occasionally, as any of us can do when overwhelmed by stress and gripped by ancient self-destructive scripts, these tools are the key to recognizing it quickly and getting back on track easily.

Living the Lessons—The Manifestation Mindset. Your ability to live in flow and experience all aspects of your life as opportunities, not problems or burdens, can be further simplified and enhanced by perpetual mindfulness of five intentions: come as you are, live the Truth, commit to the highest good, express gratitude and trust God with the details.

Your ability to experience flow in any moment, filling your life with faith, hope, prosperity, peace and joy, is directly proportional to your ability to fuel yourself in that moment with love, respect, curiosity, compassion and gratitude. That fuel allows you to realign your awareness with what I call the God’s-eye view, enhancing your perception and expanding your perspective until you know that we are one and that Universal love is always unfolding the highest good for all, in all, through all.
